Chander S. Mahabir is the managing partner at Sjiem Fat & Mahabir.
Chander joined Sjiem Fat & Mahabir in 2004. He is responsible for the management and the day-to-day business of the firm.
He is also responsible for the protection of intellectual property rights such as trademark rights in Suriname, several Caribbean countries, the Caribbean Netherlands and the Benelux.
Chander has extensive experience on trademark legal issues including advising, registration, and renewal of trademarks and service marks. He advises clients on strategies for protection of their trademark rights. He assists clients with both international and domestic trademark applications.
Chander is a member of the International Trademark Association (INTA) and regularly attends their annual meetings. He is also a member of the Inter-American Association of Intellectual Property (ASIPI), the Intellectual Property Caribbean Association (IPCA) and the Benelux Association for Trademarks and Design Law (BMM).
